Food & Drink on the Farm
Sensational Farm-grown Food and Craft Drinks
Food & Drink
For the Love of Food
Food and Drink at Drovers is important as we are foodies at heart. We love using our home grown and foraged food….cooking, baking, making jams, relishes, sloe gin, elderflower cordial etc for our larder and for our guests too. So even though we are self catering, we put on food nights, breakfasts, cookery workshops, the lunch shack and fully catered events, so not only can you have a break from cooking but you can also experience the lush organic produce from our Farm & Kitchen Larder too.
All our food is cooked outdoors on open fires just as the Drovers did here many moons ago. As we are a small business we can only put on the food nights and breakfasts if we have the numbers. So please help us to make it happen! You will see on Trip Advisor the food nights are epic and you wouldn’t want to miss out!
Food Grown the Proper Way
How the food is grown is one of our great passions. We don’t want any baddies in our food so we farm organically no artificial pesticides, fertilizers or hormone injections for our animals. The animals have the best life possible free ranging on the farm. Here we pride ourselves on Food that is grown the proper way.
Magical Gatherings around the Dinner Table
We believe in the Magic that happens when people gather. So gathering our dinner table and the fire-bowl is an important part of the full Drovers experience.
A typical breakfast – Homemade granola, organic yogurt, fresh juice, fresh cut fruit, cereals, pain au choc, croissants, homemade jam, peanut butter, nutella, homemade bread for toast, & one hot dish (which we change every day) eg spanish omelette with chorizo, award winning locally blended tea & locally ground coffee. We only do this for Groups and it is included in the price for the May Half Term/Hay Festival or During the Summer School Holidays during the Peak Pricing.
Dinners are a great communal gathering to chat to us & the other guests. The Drovers ways of old and Safari holidays in Africa have inspired our food. All of which is cooked outdoors on open fires. People generally gather around the fire-bowl while we are cooking, having a few pre dinner drinks. Alternates can be made for kids and people with allergens.
